The latest details about Google Stadia

Last month, Google released an update about their upcoming cloud gaming service Google Stadia. Stadia is best to be compared to a Netflix subscription, but for games. Instead of buying tangible disks that contain the newest game, you will get access to an online collection of all sorts of games. You can start playing without having to download and install every game separately. The subscription offers a platform that is ready to go with the only real necessity a swift internet connection.

To play on your TV, you will need Google Chromecast Ultra and the Stadia Controller. The Stadia controller does not portray any huge innovative features in both software or esthetics which is disappointing to some players. It mainly shows resemblances to the Xbox and PlayStation controllers. We don’t see any issues with this as the subscription service offers all the innovation you need. The controller comes in four available colors and it is now available for individual pre-orders as well.

November 2019

Last week, Google announced the Stadia gaming experience to air in November. At that point, the only way you will be able to access Stadia by using the Chromecast Ultra in combination with a Stadia Controller. It goes without saying you will also need the access to Stadia itself, which will only be available through a Founder’s Edition or by getting granted access through a Buddy Pass.

Founder’s edition & Buddy Pass

This November, Stadia will find its way into the first launching phase in which you can only get access through purchasing the Founder’s Edition. This includes three months of Stadia Pro, a Founder’s badge, a buddy pass, Chromecast Ultra, and an exclusive Stadia name. The bundle’s value adds up to $300, but it is now up for pre-order for only $129.

About the buddy pass; Google offers the first round of subscribers the option to give a friend three months access to Stadia Pro to give the platform a try. Your buddy does have to purchase a controller, it just shares the subscription for three months.

Ever since the announcement of this futuristic piece of gaming, people all over the world have been talking about it. Gadget-, gaming-, and innovation enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the premier moment the game cloud will go online. Will Google Stadia be able to live up to the high expectations that have arisen? We will have to test our patience until November, but in the meantime keep our eyes and ears open for new updates regarding Stadia.
